Baby Grok – Toy of the Future or a Threat to Our Children?

Children’s Digital Safety

Grzegorz Zajaczkowski, co-founder and CTO at Aithernal, Digital Champion for Poland & Digital Transformation Lead at the European Commission, expert for TVP and expert at the Ministry of Digital Affairs, spoke with Dorota Szymborska for tvp.pl about Elon Musk’s latest AI project, Baby Grok, a child-friendly version of the controversial chatbot developed by xAI.

In the interview, Grzegorz voiced serious concerns. As he put it:

“AI and children – this isn’t just a tech issue. It’s a question about the future of entire generations.”

Baby Grok aims to deliver AI-generated stories, games and educational content for kids. But experts warn that without transparency, clear safeguards and parental control, such technology could do more harm than good, from misinformation and data collection to emotional manipulation.

As both a parent and an AI expert, Grzegorz Zajączkowski doesn’t mince words:
“I don’t believe in the neutrality of AI in education. If Musk couldn’t control Grok for adults, there’s no reason to trust him with a version for children.”

AI can support learning but only under strict parental oversight, with clear regulation and strong public awareness. Without that, it becomes a risk rather than a resource.

Should AI teach our children? Possibly – but not subjects like history, religion or ethics, where the line between fact and worldview becomes blurred.
